[Give him a minute to activate Text To Speech since typing with paws is hard.]
Well, if there is anything I can do to answer any questions you may have, I will do my best. Right now we are accepting anyone who would be willing to volunteer their time with helping to care for the animals here, or who would be willing to help build things like shelters or other necessities. Other contributions would be welcomed as well, such as those willing to help treat sick or injured creatures or being willing to help guard the sanctuary from would-be poachers.
As we are still a small project, there isn't a lot here just yet, and I currently have no reliable means of payment just yet. But any help would be welcomed.
[Just going to go ahead and throw that out there.]
Out of the list, guarding may be the best option as it's something I'm used to. I also wield a rifle which would allow me to take out any potential intruders from a distance without being seen.
However I can also assist in some of the manual labor, such as helping build shelters.
I would not be opposed to more defenders willing to protect the sanctuary. I know that right now we don't have many creatures living within it, but I know how humans and hunters can get. And we're already housing creatures who were once on the bounty boards. I can only imagine what may happen if a rarer creature comes to live here.
[ A neatly wrapped package with whichever name Sherlock knows him by Nanaki's name on it is left at his residence. There isn't any name to hint who it was from as if the sender didn't want to pressure him into feeling he needed to give a gift in return.
Inside is a drawing of the gates to the Cosmos Conservatory with at least one representation of every species who calls the place home. ]
[Aw, how nice! What a pretty drawing! Nanaki will probably need Turo's help to hang it up, but it'll definitely be put on display in the Conservatory's reception area.]
[Also sorry Sherlock, but while there's no name Nanaki's nose is able to pick up on the faint scent clinging to it, helping him figure out who it is that sent the anonymous package. He'll definitely give something in return!]
[ He... probably should have seen that coming. Ah, well. It's not like Sherlock's sketches aren't everywhere in the Conservatory to cross-reference even if the scent wasn't there. ]
Greetings, I'm certain that your keen nose can already tell what's inside the present that I've dropped off! But I still hope you enjoy what little surprise and joy you might find in opening it nonetheless!
Happy Holidays,
Santa Claus
[Nanaki gets various, delicious steaks, pork roasts and a handmade, fluffy, ultra soft bed.]
[That should be sufficient enough introduction, so she'll get right to the point.]
What sort of animals are you able to take into your Conservatory? If, say, someone found themselves with a crystalized whale that they found from the auctions.
It was the "grand item" at the end of the night, with its frame made of whale bones that were no doubt harvested unethically. Cidolfus and I had managed to steal the whale and escape with it.
[ Emet-Selch is not a regular visitor to the Conservatory, per se, but he is regular enough to be recognisable to the permanent workers there between monitoring the defensive barrier, checking on Professor Turo's leg, and bringing the ambystoma (axolotl) for playdates with the Whoopbats.
It's on one of the latter occasions that the elder mage finds himself here. On his way out, he is accosted by some unusual yet familiar three-headed puppies. After a glance to check for workers, he kneels down and gives the exuberant animals some attention. ]
Well, aren't you all friendly? I thought you had all found homes.
[ The ambystoma on his shoulder, resting on his shoulder after an adventurous day, lifts its head and squeaks. ]
[Emet-Selch's presence isn't known only to the workers here; the other animals have made note of the man's presence, and in turn Nanaki ends up hearing about his comings and going as well. Smokeweed in particular tends to gossip a lot about the man, especially when the grouchy feral cat watches the elder mage tending to Professor Turo's leg. But it's during his rounds that Nanaki himself comes across the man, alerted by his scent... and the excited yips of the cerberi pups.]
[They're starting to get into their adolescence now, but they're still young. But seeing the elder mage petting them and giving them attention, and hearing how eager and happy they are, makes Nanaki's tail wag as he walks over.]
Well, they did. But then their people went home. So I told them they can stay here until they find another home.
[ A shame that the riftfarers make such unpredictable and arguably unsuitable owners of pets (he thinks, as someone who has accumulated a veritable zoo of them himself). They could vanish at any moment, leaving everything hanging in the air. Just like--
...
He shoves the thought away before it can show on his face. ]
I cannot think of a better home than here. We had creatures like these on my star too, although the concept was ultimately shelved for not having any clear contribution to its biome.
[Nanaki tilts his head in curiosity, a frown on his face. That didn't mean what he thinks it means, right..?]
[One of the cerberi pups yips eagerly, drawing Nanaki's attention from his thoughts. He chuckles, wagging his tail.]
Well, you'll have to ask him yourself! [He says it to the cerberus directly. Then, turning to Emet-Sulch, he adds,] This one here's wondering if you've come to play with them. You're welcome to if you want, but they can get a little rowdy if you're not prepared.
[ Addressed to Nanaki and neatly wrapped package is an updated group drawing of all the creatures who call the Cosmo Conservatory home either permanently or for a short period, framed and ready to be hung. Once more, it is unsigned. ]

I wish to inquire about the Cosmo Conservatory, specifically what openings you may have for employment.
